Dowlish Wake – Cudworth – Chaffcombe.      Another Mike & Frank classic.   Satnav: TA19 0NY   
 Leader : Ken (01278 793453/07770721954) Meet at 10.30am Perry’s Cider overflow car park, (permission sought).
GR: ST 375 128.  Route: M5 to exit junc.25. Turn left A358 to Yeovil. At roundabout take 2nd exit B3168 to Ilminster. Next roundabout take B3150 to Town Centre. After 1 mile fork right signposted Dowlish Wake. Follow for approx. 1mile turn right and immediately left (both clearly signed Dowlish Wake) Follow the road pass the church and turn right into Perry’s Farm. Grade: Moderate to hard with superb views. Bring plenty of money for farm shop. ie Boozy apricots in gin. Pickled figs for cheddar cheese. Etc.

Rodney Stoke and Mendip Way .                                                                          Satnav: BS27 3XB                                              Leader: Phillip C (07890724323/01934708840) Meet: 10.30am Car park of the Rodney Stoke Inn.  GR: ST 484 502 Route: Out of WSM through Banwell heading through Winscombe. Come out of Winscombe to A38 and turn R onto A38. Then L onto A371, towards Cheddar. Continue on A371 for 5.9 miles, into Rodney Stoke. The Rodney Stoke Inn is on the right. Grade: Moderate. One Steepish climb. Lots of stiles! Afternoon tea: There are no parking charges. The Rodney Inn is booked for us to have a drink and light refreshments after the walk.

˜Early evening stroll: West Huntspill and the River Parrett˜                                                  Satnav: TA9 3SA                               Leader: Pat M-H (01278 792419 / 07902 210705). Meet: 5pm The Orchard Inn, West Huntspill(with permission)
GR: ST 312 459. Route: A38 through Highbridge and into West Huntspill. Inn on right just before Hand Car Wash.
 Grade: Easy/ moderate.  **If eating after the walk please allow time to pre-order food before start.

Barrow Gurney   -   Healls Scars You are invited to join Allan R (078 339 21 334) on a rece.
 Meet:  10:30am CP behind The Princes Motto (with permission).  GR:  ST 530 678.  Route: Option 1 – A370 towards Bristol, shortly after Flax Bourton, take slip road and turn right onto B3130.  Inn about 1 mile on RHS at end of Barrow Gurney.  Option 2 – A38 towards Bristol, 2.3 miles after airport, turn left at traffic lights signposted Barrow Gurney.  Inn on LHS just after bridge.  Grade:  Gentle hills, views.  Picnic.

Congresbury - Yatton.  Forget all those hills, a circular flat walk via Yatton and the Strawberry Line.
Leader Tony Layland (07891 218 373).  Meet: 10:30 am. GR: ST 437 638. Public car park next to Congresbury Arms (was the Ship and Castle). Route: Take A370 from Weston straight over lights (Right) at Congresbury turning immediately left after the pub into car park remembering to park at rear.   Grade : easy, open views. Picnic Lunch.

 You are invited to join Allan R (07833 921334) on a rece.  Meet:  10:30am CP behind The Prince of Waterloo (with permission).  GR:  ST 540 652.  Route:  Usual route to Churchill, then take A38 towards airport. Just after second roundabout turn right to Winford. Pub in front of you at junction in village. Picnic.

Butcombe – Regilbury Court                                                                                       Satnav: BS40 7UN (nearby)
Leader: Allan R (07833 921334 ) Meet: Blagdon Lake  Grid Ref: 504 604 Route:  Usual route to Churchill then take A368 to Blagdon. In village turn left SP Butcombe, and park on the roadside at the far end of the dam wall. Grade:
Fields, lanes, hills and views. Moderate, picnic.

Leader Ken (01278 793453/0770721954). Meet 5pm Bleadon Village Hall. GR341 569 Grade: Moderate although we will be doing a slow steady climb up Bleadon Hill. Followed by drinks or meal (if you want) in Catherine’s Inn. Bleadon. BS24 0PZ

Wednesday  21st August   7½ milesRoss-on-Wye and Chase Wood.                                                                  Satnav: HR9 7BY **
 Leader: Ken (01278 793453/07770721954) Meet: at 10.30am Ross Sport Centre car park GR: SO 593 240. (£1 for 24hrs!) Route: M5 to M49 onto M4 to cross Severn Bridge.  Exit junc. 24 onto A449 to Monmouth.  Continue on through Monmouth A40 to 2nd roundabout. Turn right to Ross B4260. Just after crossing the bridge over River Wye the large car park is on the right.  Grade: Easy but with an exhilarating climb that could make this hard. (The climb is only 10 minutes if you don’t stop, but it is steep). A walk that has everything, riverside paths, fields, woods, views and the ancient red sandstone town of Ross-on-Wye. (64 miles from W-s-M can be done in just 1¼ hrs). (2½ miles further than Goodrich Castle).

Wednesday 28th August 7.3 miles.Huntstile – Goathurst – Rooks Castle – Kings Cliff Wood.                                   Satnav: TA5 2DQ                       Leader: John H (01934 633139 / 07799 307171).  Meet: 10:30am Huntstile Farm Cafe Car Park with permission.
GR: ST 265 336. Route:  M5 J24, (A39) towards Minehead (3rd exit) But at next roundabout take A38(S) Taunton (1st exit). After 0.7 mile turn right into Old Road (Nth Petherton). Stay on this road for just over a mile turn right signed Goathurst. Stay on this lane for ¾ of a mile to sharp left then sharp right bend by farm buildings. After 100yds Huntstile Farm Cafe sign on right. Grade: Moderate ups & downs with long climb to Rooks Castle. Picnic

 You are invited to join Allan R on a rece (07833 921334) Meet: 10.30am Cheddar Parish CP (free) GR:ST 448 535 Route:Take A38/A370 to Cheddar. At end of long straight road in Cheddar turn right at end SP Wedmore. Turn right after 50yds, CP at end on right. Grade: Mainly flat with 2 small up & downs. Picnic.
