Park on road with consideration. Route: M5 to Jnc.25 left onto A358 towards Ilminster and left onto A303. After approx. 3miles look out for sign to Seavington St Michael and follow onto Hinton St George. (40miles from WsM) Grade: Easy: one incline near end. Attractive and historic villages

SAT 9TH JULY 8 MLS  MEDIUM         RODNEY STOKE TO PRIDDY     INCLUDING A VISIT TO THE PRIDDY FOLK FESTIVAL    Leader Allan C    START TIME 10.30 am         Tel (07395528751)  Sat Nav BS273UP   WTW Mandolin-Shapes-Target  directions take Banwell Winscombe road A371 from Weston through Banwell and through Winscombe untill you reach traffic signals turn right onto A38 carry along and turn off onto the Axbridge bypass A371 follow this road through  Cheddar and then through Draycott next village is Rodney Stoke go past garage and past pub then look out for Stoke street just before bad right hand bend as your leaving village parking on Stoke Street (probably more room by the church) A sharp climb at first the rest of the walk is fairly level we will make our way to Priddy and then there will be time to take in some of the festival before returning to Rodney Stoke at the finish. Allow 10 minutes after parking to reach there in order to catch the service bus to Cheddar. Return via the reservoir, Axbridge,Strawberriy Line,fields and rough tracks. Please ring the leader if you plan to join this walk. The bus leaves promptly. Bring your bus pass.

How to get to the start take M5 north come off at junction 20 follow Ettlingen way to Aldi roundabout go three quarters way round and follow Northern way to mini roundabout turn left follow road to next mini roundabout three quarters around then follow Portishead road and watch out for All Saints church on right parking is opposite in layby immideately after pedestrian crossing this walk takes us through the woods above Clevedon Court to the Cadbury camp an iron age hillfort and then back to Clevedon beside the land and the middle Yeo river there is a bit of climbing up to the Camp but most of the walk is on a level (coffee stop lunch stop)

We might also see the Abbots fish house.

(Description of walk) This one time industrial hell is now a peaceful valley walk featuring an ancient pilgriage route,engineering designed by Isambard Brunel a long standing Heronry and a bat cave! the walk is moderate mostly in shady woods but well maintained footpaths the walk will be ideal for a hot midsummers day.

Meet at the Old Crown inn car park which is right opposite the pub directions take the A368 to Banwell turn left keep following the A368 untill you reach the Nelsons Arms pub opposite the clock turn right go past the Nelsons Arms carry on up lane till you reach the Crown inn the car park is right opposite.The first half of this walk goes to Shipham and back on the old pre turnpike track ;the second half through woods and across fields via Langford both halves start and finish at the Crown inn (coffee stop lunch break) refreshments are available at the Crown after the walk.

 Saturday -Monday 27/28/29th August Special Event:: Mendip Ramblers Free Walking Festival.

The annual Walking Festival will be based in the Somerset village of Stratton-on- the-Fosse, which straddles the Fosse Way, an ancient Roman Road which linked the cities of Lincoln and Exeter.
There will be three morning walks, approximately 5/7/10 miles in length starting at 10.30am. 
The afternoon family walk of 3/4 miles starts at 1.30 pm.
Walks include at least one stop for food/drink. All walkers are welcome!

Directions take A370 to Congresbury at second set of traffic lights take Yatton road B3133 carry on along this road over a mini roundabout and as you approach the CO-OP in Yatton look out for Well lane on the right go to the end of this short road and turn right onto Stowey road as you continue along this road look out for the Pavillion on the left car park is beside this.This walk crosses the Avon wildlife trust reserve from where there are good views.The windmill was built where Yatton parish (which included Cleeve) met Wrington parish. (coffee stop lunch stop) There are some climbs on the walk nothing too strenuous and there is the likely hood of some muddy spots on parts of the walk
