Route: A38 towards Bristol, pass Bristol Airport and turn right into West Lane, turn quickly right and park on the common to the right of the church. Grade: moderate. Mostly fields, tracks and green lanes. Picnic lunch. |

Getting there take M5 from Weston to Portishead junction go around roundabout and take Pill road A369 at first set of traffic lights take filter lane and turn right this is the Portbury road follow road into Portbury and park just past the Priory pub. Close to the city of Bristol,with easy access from the M5this delightful walkascends into Priors Wood Nature Reserve, with views across the Severn Estuary and Forest of Dean and then opens on to peaceful downs it continues deep into the race horse training area of Lower Failand crossing fields and farmland, with views over Portishead towards Wales. |

Directions take A370 to Congresbury at second set of traffic lights take Yatton road B3133 carry on along this road over a mini roundabout and as you approach the CO-OP in Yatton look out for Well lane on the right go to the end of this short road and turn right onto Stowey road as you continue along this road look out for the Pavillion on the left car park is beside this.This walk crosses the Avon wildlife trust reserve from where there are good views.The windmill was built where Yatton parish (which included Cleeve) met Wrington parish. (coffee stop lunch stop) There are some climbs on the walk nothing too strenuous and there is the likely hood of some muddy spots on parts of the walk |

lights (West St.) Left again at fingerpost signs to Enmore & Bishop’s Lydeard. Stay on this
road all the way to Bishop’s Lydeard. The Railway car park is straight on over the
roundabout and then left, (signposted). (If the road is diverted follow arrows and then go
right on the main road to roundabout where you will go left). Grade: Moderate. Quite a bit
of quiet lane walking but also fields and tracks. Good views. Coffee stop; Picnic lunch |

WED 7TH SEPT 8.5 MILES MEDIUM | PENALLT, MONMOUTHSHIRE. LEADER: KEN (01278 793453/07770721954) WTW STUFFING-MICRO-RUFFLE. POST CODE NP25 4AH MEET: 10.30 am Pelham Village Hall (Free parking). Route: M5 to Jnc15 to M4 take 1 st exit to M48 at jnc 2 A466 to Chepstow. Follow A466 at 2 nd roundabout turn Left B4293 Itton Road. Follow B4293 for 11miles through Trelleck and turn Right to Penallt. Follow this road turning left and right for 1.5 miles then turn left to village Hall. Village hall is immediately on your left. Grade: Moderate to hard (but NOT hard). One of the best walks I’ve done! It starts on top of the plateau and descends to riverside paths returning via climbs up byways and lanes to a medieval church on the side of the famous gorge. Manicured grounds, sequoia redwood trees, ancient woodland, former railway track, old iron viaduct, amazing views, this has everything. Picnic, Lunch (43 miles from W-s-M 55 minutes) |

GR: SS 974 318 Route: To Bridgwater A39 past Morrisons and Left at traffic lights (West St.) Left again at fingerpost signs to Enmore & Bishop’s Lydeard. Stay on this road all the way to Bishop’s Lydeard. At Roundabout turn right onto A358 then left after ¾ mile onto A3224 to Ralegh’s Cross, here bear left onto B3190 towards Bampton, after 1.9 miles turn right signed Wimbleball Lake. Take the 2nd turn on left signed Upton & Holworthy Farm, then after 100yds turn right into free Car park. Grade: Undulating path in woods and open country. Moderate, picnic. ( 44 miles from Weston about 1½ Hrs) |

The annual Walking Festival will be based in the Somerset village of Stratton-on- the-Fosse, which straddles the Fosse Way, an ancient Roman Road which linked the cities of Lincoln and Exeter.
There will be three morning walks, approximately 5/7/10 miles in length starting at 10.30am.
The afternoon family walk of 3/4 miles starts at 1.30 pm.
Walks include at least one stop for food/drink. All walkers are welcome!
